Know which vessels sit behind a customer.
Customer screening checks the company. RapidRisk Screening also checks its fleet: it links a company to the vessels it owns, manages or operates, screens them against OFAC and other public sanctions lists, and keeps the evidence for every match.
Early development. Pilots run on public or synthetic data only.
From a company name to evidence an analyst can use
Four steps, each one visible in the result so nothing is a black box.
Identify
Resolve the customer to a legal entity and its related companies.
Link
Find vessels where those entities are owner, manager or operator.
Screen
Check each vessel and linked party against OFAC's lists and other public sanctions lists.
Record
Keep the basis, confidence, list version and analyst decision.
Explainable
Every hit shows why it matched and how confident the match is. Likely false positives are marked, not hidden.
Auditable
Queries, results and data versions are logged, with an exportable evidence pack for review.
Analyst-led
Results are candidates for review. The decision, and the obligation, stay with your team.
Why ownership matters as much as names
Under OFAC's 50 Percent Rule, an entity owned 50 percent or more, directly or indirectly, by blocked persons is itself treated as blocked, even if it is not named on a list. A vessel's owner or manager can therefore matter as much as the vessel. See OFAC for the current guidance.
Built to run inside your environment
Customer names are confidential, so the design keeps them with you. Data comes in. Names do not go out.
Designed for on-premises or private-cloud deployment. The pilot needs no customer data.
Names of public sources only. RapidRisk is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these bodies.
Questions
Does this replace our screening system?
No. It sits beside it and adds the vessel layer. Your existing process, lists and case management stay in place.
Which lists does it use?
The pilot starts with OFAC's published sanctions lists (including the SDN list) and the EU and UK public lists, with the list name and version stamped on every result. Others can be agreed.
Do you work with OFAC?
We use OFAC's public lists and guidance. RapidRisk is not affiliated with or endorsed by OFAC or the US Department of the Treasury.
What about ownership data?
The pilot uses public sources. Commercial ownership data is added only where its licence allows, and we confirm that with you before any pilot.
How accurate is it?
We make no accuracy claims yet. A pilot would measure matches and false positives on a test set agreed with you, and report the result.
What support is included?
Pilot support is best-efforts. Formal service levels are agreed at contract stage.
Run a short pilot on public data.
A scoped evaluation you can review first. No customer data needed.
