• Oil and gas

  Platforms, FPSOs, terminals, export pipelines and the supply and standby vessels that serve them.

  Operators of tugs, survey, supply and crew-transfer fleets, and authorities watching approaches and anchorages.

Fixed and mobile assets

From observation to evidence

1. 1. Observe

   Live AIS positions and Sentinel-1 SAR coverage over the area of interest.

2. 2. Detect

   Radar detections are extracted as candidate vessels with an estimated length and a confidence.

3. 3. Compare

   Each detection is compared with AIS. Those with no match, or in poor AIS coverage, become cues.

4. 4. Confirm

   A high-resolution X-band collection is tasked on the cue and the annotated image returned.

5. 5. Record

   An evidence pack assembles the image, metadata, cue record, AIS context and custody log.

Specification

Area of interest

Dover Strait and eastern Channel; core area 0.5 to 2.5 degrees E, 50.3 to 51.5 degrees N, with a wider approach area.

AIS

Live terrestrial AIS, refreshed in the map every 5 seconds. Latest report per vessel; vessels not heard from for 3 minutes are shown as stale and dropped after 15.

SAR

Sentinel-1 C-band footprints refreshed every 15 minutes. Revisit over the Strait is typically days. C-band detection is unreliable for vessels under roughly 15 to 25 metres (a planning assumption). Next-pass times are estimates.

Fixed assets

Dated snapshot of wind farms, turbines, cables, pipelines, lanes, anchorages and restricted areas. Positions are indicative.

Confirmation imagery

X-band, high-resolution class (illustrative in this demo). Absence of a detection is not proof of absence.

Radar detections, the buoy network, and the entire X-band confirmation and ordering flow: quotes, tasking, imagery and evidence pack. No provider is contacted and no payment is taken.
